Known Creatures & Entities

Dragonheim's wilderness is home to beasts shaped by centuries of relic radiation, political neglect, and ecological pressure. All entries below represent documented sightings.

Beast · Duskmarrow Ashfields

Ashwarg

Medium Threat

Gaunt, scorched-fur predators that hunt in silence across the char-black plains surrounding old dragon battlefields.

Believed to have once been wolves, the ashwargs mutated over generations living among dragonbone radiation. Their fur absorbs heat, making them near-invisible on warm stone.

Beast · Valebrook Frontier Forests

Thornhide Boar

Low Threat

Heavy-shouldered tusked boars with bark-like hide grown through a life in dense briar country.

Frontier levies in Valebrook use thornhide leather for light armor. Hunters prize the tusks as raw material for fletching and small blade handles.

Reptile · Aurelfen River Floodplains

Gilded Serpent

Medium Threat

Golden-scaled river serpents that rest beneath lily-pad canopies and ambush wading prey.

River traders in Aurelfen say the gilded serpent guards treasure. This is a myth — they are drawn to warm metallic surfaces including iron-hulled flatboats.

Drake · Duskmarrow Highland Ridges

Ridgeback Drake

High Threat

Wingless distant cousins of the five ancient dragons. Territorial, heavily plated, and capable of short bursts of flame breath.

Drake territories are considered cursed land. Several county borders in Duskmarrow were deliberately drawn around known ridge nests to avoid political liability.

Undead · Old Battlefields & Ruins

Hollow Knight

High Threat

Animated suits of ancient armor, animated by relic proximity. They maintain battlefield formation patterns from wars centuries old.

Historians believe hollow knights are formed when enough dragonbone relic energy permeates a burial site. They protect nothing — only march.

Spectral · Floodplain Bogs & Marshes

Mirewraith

Extreme Threat

Translucent figures formed from concentrated grief energy, drawing to sites of mass death. Touching one causes immediate hypothermia.

Mirewraiths cannot be killed with physical weapons. Fire, relic fragments, and high-volume sound have all been documented to disperse them temporarily.

Crustacean · Coastal Cliffs & Tidal Rocks

Stoneclaw Crab

Low Threat

Oversized tide-pool crabs with rock-grey shells and remarkable grip strength. Prized by coastal fishers.

Stoneclaw shells are used in construction along coastal counties. Their claws are sold as exotic weapons in some border markets.

Insect · Deep Cave Systems

Voidmoth

Medium Threat

Large cave moths with wingspan up to two meters, whose wing dust is mildly hallucinogenic on contact.

Alchemists pay well for voidmoth wing dust. It is a component in vision potions, fog dispersal grenades, and forbidden illusion compounds.
